The festival of Navratri is one of the most auspicious Hindu festivals celebrated in honor of Goddess “Maa Durga”. Navratri is a Sanskrit word, Nava means nine and Ratri means night. Navratri is celebrated twice a year.

Vasant (Chaitra) Navratri is celebrated in the month of March to April, Vasant means Spring. Sharad Navratri in September to October, Sharad means Autumn.

In the eastern and northeastern states, Navratri is celebrated as Durga Puja in the glory of the warrior goddess, where she fights and wins after defeating Mahishasura, who was a buffalo demon in Hindu mythology.

Bhog of the Day: Cow ghee is offer to Maa Shailputri. It is believed to free one from all diseases.

In Second day of Navrati, is the day of  Maa Brahmacharini  – Mother of devotion and penance. 

Colour of The Day: Red which depicts for Love and Passion
