Teachers’ Day celebrate is celebrated in India on the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

Interesting Facts about Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on Teachers Day

Radhakrishnan was born in Tirutani,1888. He completed his school education from Gowdie School, Tiruvallur.

He joined the Voorhee's College in Vellore and later switched to the Madras Christian College.

Dr. Radhakrishnan serves as Professor of Philosophy at the University of Mysore, 1918 and at the Calcutta University, 1921.

In 1923, Dr. Radhakrishnan's book "Indian Philosophy" was published. He was called to Oxford University, to deliver lectures on Hindu philosophy.

Dr. S. Radhakrishnan serves as Vice Chancellor at the Andhra University,1939 and at the Banaras Hindu University,1946.

Dr. Radhakrishnan was elected President of India in 1962 after serving two terms as Vice-President from 1952-1962.
